Lighted Christmas Stroll Through Pioneer Village

 DECEMBER 8, 9, and 15, 16,  2023

Due to the overwhelming turnout the last two years for the  Lighted Stroll, volunteers of the Ferndale Heritage Society will again host a “Lighted Christmas Stroll Through Pioneer Village” event. This event is a “giving back to our community” labor of love after the restricted year we have all endured. The second and third weekends in December, Pioneer Village will be open Friday and Saturday evenings,  DECEMBER 8, 9, and 15, 16,  2023, 5 – 8pm. Thanks to those board stamped concrete sidewalks, you won’t even get your feet wet as you stroll around the cabins, see all the park lit up, hear Christmas music and see costumed volunteers greet you as you feel the holiday cheer spill into the winter air.

“Each year the park gets beautifully lit up with outside decorations, during these Lighted Stroll weekends there is no access into any of the cabins” explains event organizer Tom Brand. Cabin fronts, roofs, porches as well as the main gate and center of the park, will be decorated. “It’s truly a step back in time as we help you begin your holiday season.”

Young guests are encouraged to prewrite their letters to Santa and mail them in the Santa mailbox that will be located by the Barrett Post Office. The letters need to have their names and a legible mailing address to help Santa return them. Hot beverages are available onsite,  to keep you warm as you stroll. Bring your cameras as a photo booth will be created at the Barr Barn lean to.  Unfortunately, Santa hasn’t committed to make an appearance, but you just never know. An addition this year will be a “seek and find the Snowman” challenge. Click here to download the Letter To Santa.

Pioneer Village is home to 15 historic log cabins. Only certified service animals allowed within all the fenced areas (Pioneer Village), per City Municipal Code 12.26.010 C. 3.

Lighted Christmas Stroll Through Pioneer Village is open the second and third weekends in December. Friday and Saturday evenings,  DECEMBER 8, 9, and 15, 16,  2023, 5 to 8 p.m. Free admission. Pioneer Park is located at 2004 Cherry Street in Ferndale. For more information, please call (360) 384-6461 or visit www.ferndaleheritagesociety.com.
